Employee Spotlight: Alec Greene, Director of Client Experience

Behind every successful company are dedicated and talented individuals who drive progress and growth. Our employee spotlight series is all about introducing you to the exceptional members of the Reveel family. Get to know their unique backgrounds, discover their contributions, and gain a deeper understanding of the culture that makes Reveel a remarkable place to work.

How would you summarize what you do?

As Director, Client Experience, my role is to advocate for all our clients. I work to ensure we’re delivering valuable support throughout the duration of our partnership terms, whether that be through our parcel intelligent platform or our talented team.

What makes you want to stay at our organization?

Over the last few years, Reveel has entered a very exciting chapter in the company’s history. Being a part of a team that works together cross-functionally to constantly innovate is exciting, and everyone here has the opportunity to contribute to our growth and innovation.

What do you like about our company culture?

Reveel has an incredibly unique culture. Nearly all of our team works remotely (and has always, even pre-pandemic), yet the group is still tight-knit and has remained that way as we’ve continued to grow in recent years. We make a point to all get together in-person a few times per year, we hold cross-department “water cooler” meetings monthly, and everyone constantly celebrates each other’s successes, both professionally and personally. Last, everyone has a direct line of communication with our leadership team.

Can you tell us a few details about the favorite part of your job?

I love hearing from our clients about the impact of our services. Whether that’s feedback on how they’ve been able to reallocate funds for exciting initiatives thanks to savings from contract negotiations or hearing about how our solutions have helped drive positive change in their organizations, saving them more money or time in their day.

What does your daily routine look like?

Most of my days are spent working with our clients on business review meetings. During these meetings we discuss updates in the industry and make sure we’re staying up to date on everything going on with their businesses. We constantly explore new solutions to implement and/or opportunities to continuously optimize carrier agreements.

Tell us the most significant project you’ve handled and how it has impacted our company?

High-level, I’m most proud of all the work we’ve done in the past year to dramatically enhance our Client Success/Client Experience department. We’ve improved a handful of internal processes and added a lot of functionality that will enable us to deliver impactful and consistent content and value to our clients. (And there’s more in the works!)

How does your current job compare with the previous jobs you’ve had?

I feel my current role combines a lot of my favorite aspects of roles I’ve held in the past and is aligned with a lot of my values as a person. I’ve worked as an Account Executive, an Account Manager, and in Sales Management. Now I get to create and foster relationships with clients and help them solve problems. I get to coach and lead other members of our client success team. Last, I don’t have to leave behind fast-pace and energy of a traditional sales role.

What things stood out for you about our management team?

I knew from the beginning of my Reveel journey a few years ago that our management team was aligned with my values. They’re very intentional in the hiring process to ensure they’re protecting the culture they’ve created here. Additionally, at a growing company, change will be constant. I’ve greatly appreciated being included in discussions that have contributed to growth and change since I’ve been here. It would not be unusual for any management to make decisions on how they’d like to do something and expect everyone to fall in line. Being invited into these conversations to collaborate is unique and special in my experience.

Which company values resonate with you the most?

First, partnership. As I’ve mentioned above, our different departments are constantly working cross-functionally. Everyone is eager to help each other when they can, even if that means going out of the scope of their job description.

Second, learning. I have learned and grown professionally so much since joining our team. Our leaders encourage us to constantly be learning and innovating, and make sure we stop to fully understand the “why” and “how” behind everything we do.

What have been your most significant achievements working for our company?

I was fortunate enough to be named a 2022 MVP last year and a 2023 Core Values Champion. I’m so proud of all the work our department has done in the past year to set ourselves up for continued success.

Who inspires you the most within our organization?

Our COO, Nick Nowacyzk – he’s incredibly passionate about making sure Reveel runs in the best manner possible and loves to solve problems. If you bring Nick a suggestion on how something might be improved or something that would make your life easier, he finds a way to get it done.

Which work benefit or perk is your favorite and why?

I’d say the management style. I mentioned earlier that the company is very intentional in their hiring process. As a result, there’s trust in employees to handle their business appropriately. You won’t find micromanagement here because everyone is bought-in to the mission and can rely on one another.

What’s unique about working for our organization?

Like I just mentioned, I feel that at Reveel you have a team of people that are truly bought into the mission. People aren’t just punching the clock. You’re encouraged to think outside the box and innovate to make your function or department operate better.

Describe how you’ve grown professionally since you started working for us.

Not only have I learned a substantial amount more about the parcel shipping industry, but I’ve continuously learned from working with our clients. We work with some awesome brands, and while they learn from us for parcel optimization, I can also learn a lot from them in other aspects of their business. I’ve talked a lot about our constant innovation. I have gained so much exposure and experience in advocating for and implementing change.

What is the most difficult challenge you’ve experienced working for us?

Parcel shipping is often described as a black box. Carriers are constantly changing things and can be deceptive in their communication. For some clients, it can be painful when the light bulb comes on and they realize a vital vendor they’ve worked with for a long time may not have their best interest in mind. These can be challenging but important conversations.

Given the opportunity, what would you like to ask our CEO?

I as well as everyone here have the opportunity to collaborate with our CEO whenever we want or need. If I had anything, he’s just a call, text, or slack away.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

Our platform and services have evolved a lot in a very short amount of time. I’m excited to see the additions we’ll be making in the next few years and to see who will join us while we change the industry. I’d love to be along for that ride!

What’s the best advice you can give to someone who wants to work for us?

Come to Reveel if you want to contribute to exciting change in our industry. Come with a collaborative attitude and don’t be afraid to bring any ideas you have, no matter how “new” you are.

What’s the most exciting thing you are working on right now?

Thanks to some new functionality that’s been delivered recently, we’re currently rolling out a plan to enable our client base with even more business intelligence tools than ever before. I’m excited to continue to help our clients visualize their data in the manner that makes the most sense for their unique businesses.

What skill do you think everyone should learn?

Both active listening and empathy. Combining the two of those can go a long way in building a successful relationship.

What motivates you?

Feeling that I’ve made a tangible impact on both our clients and our company. When our clients choose to renew with us at the end of their terms, I get to see that in action.
