Employee Spotlight: Tyler Hill, Transportation Finance Integration Specialist

Behind every successful company are dedicated and talented individuals who drive progress and growth. Our employee spotlight series is all about introducing you to the exceptional members of the Reveel family. Get to know their unique backgrounds, discover their contributions, and gain a deeper understanding of the culture that makes Reveel a remarkable place to work.

How would you summarize what you do?

I joined Reveel to help expand our service offerings around financial integration and data transformation. I lead new customers through our platform implementation program – getting in the weeds of each customer’s data and building out things like data normalization, general ledger coding, weekly and monthly financial reporting and accruals. And getting those customers plugged into Reveel’s incredibly customizable BI tool to maximize that enhanced data.

What makes you want to stay at our organization?

I love that our technology is a disrupter in the parcel spend management market. It is exciting to engage with both current customers and prospects as a true market leader and get to share in that excitement with them.

What do you like about our company culture?

Spirit of collaboration. From the top down – Reveels executive team values input from everyone in the organization. Also shows up in cross org collaboration as well. Everybody is on the same page about making the Reveel platform the best solution out there.

Can you tell us a few details about the favorite part of your job?

I really enjoy working with so many people who are eager to learn. Sometimes I a am that person that can be the “teacher” and share my expertise. In other situations we are investigating an issue or working on a new solution together. In either case there is an organization-wide focus on continuous improvement that makes every day exciting.

Tell us the most significant project you’ve handled and how it has impacted our company?

I had the opportunity to review some existing processes for strategic clients and use my expertise in optimizing data flows to make significant improvements to those processes.  Through those enhancements we were able to improve allocation accuracy and add some new features, to the delight of those important clients.

How does your current job compare with the previous jobs you’ve had?

Things like financial integration, cost allocation, and data transformation haven’t always been a strategic priority at Reveel, so while these are things that I have spent the majority of my career focused on, I have the opportunity here to build out our methodologies and best practices from the ground up. In prior roles I was working with a tool or way of doing things that existed before my time with limited opportunity to implement my own ideas. At Reveel, I am always encouraged to explore ways to improve current processes or come up with new solutions that benefit our clients and ultimately the company as a whole.

What things stood out for you about our management team?

I think the leadership team at Reveel truly appreciates the input of every person in the company. The way that we celebrate successes, whether its in sales, agreement negotiations, product enhancements, renewals, etc., is modeled by our leaders.  And it’s every day too – not just at an annual or quarterly meeting where that type of thing is an expected agenda item.

Which company values resonate with you the most?

I really appreciate our values around Learning and Partnership for many of the reasons listed above.  It was evident even within the first couple of weeks I was at Reveel that every team was focused on working together and figuring out how to keep improving the Reveel product.

What have been your most significant achievements working for our company?

I think at this point it has been the projects focused on improving existing processes. Some have been client focused, others around internal processes.  But in both cases the projects have resulted in efficiency gains and improved outputs.

What is the most difficult challenge you’ve experienced working for us?

Since joining Reveel I’ve had to learn an entirely new tool for managing data transformations and building out BI visualizations.  Fortunately my team is very helpful and willing to spend time answering questions or helping me work through issues. Also I love exploring and learning new products, so while it has been challenging it has also been fun.

What’s the best advice you can give to someone who wants to work for us?

Ask questions! Don’t be afraid to ask why something is done the way that it is. Worst case you learn something new. Best case you are able to take that and come up with a way to improve that process for our clients or internal stakeholders.

What’s the most exciting thing you are working on right now?

I have had the opportunity to be involved in our strategic goal of adding more carriers to the Reveel platform. This has allowed me to leverage my prior experiences to help ensure we are loading the data correctly and ensuring that our clients continue to have a positive experience working with Reveel.
